“If you could change one thing about your body, what would it be?” Jubilee Project (famous youtubers) has asked this question 50 people in their latest video. You can watch it here.
The interesting bit of their video was that they chose to ask not only adults, but different aged children as well. Their answers where totally different – adults perceived the question in an insecurity context, whilst kids looked at it from more of a creative side.
What I found fascinating was that this video was sponsored by new skin care brand called I Nature Skin Care and it all looked very subtle and suited the video concept very well.
I believe, the idea of sponsoring YouTube video makers should become more popular within PR sector of brands, because it is cheaper than TV advert and it’s a WIN – WIN situation for both brand and youtubers.
To be honest, the video was made so well and suited the skin care brand nicely, that from the first seconds I thought it was just an advert for I Nature Skin Care, but it turned out to be an awareness campaign for social experiment which was originally launched in New Orleans in 2008.
The campaign’s idea is to inspire people to feel more comfortable and confident in themselves. People are asked to tweet what makes them comfortable in their own skin using hashtag #Iamcomfortablebeacause and linking the tweet to @jubileeproject.
From PR point of view this video is beneficial for:
- I Nature Skin Care – because they are being mentioned in the beginning and in the end of the video + video in general looks like it could be their brand commercial;
- Jubilee Project – they are spreading awareness about themselves and creating their own positive image
- People in general – they are being reminded why it is important to feel good in their own skin and making them feel better about themselves ( + there is a chance to win a gift from Jubilee Project if your tweet is being shared on their page)
